Trouble Department will publish Rot Contracts, a poetry chapbook by Jessica Lawson, on August 11th, 2020 in print and ebook editions. This will be our first title published entirely in-house (all previous titles have been in collaboration with another individual or organization), making it a particularly exciting project, in addition to a dagger-sharp depiction of a queer family’s heated relationship to an absent father, viewed through the cold lens of a series of legal documents.
The book will have cover art by Jeremy Tinianow.
Jessica Lawson is a writer, scholar, teacher, and artist. A Pushcart-nominated poet, her creative writing has appeared or is forthcoming in The Rumpus; Entropy; Yes, Poetry; The Wanderer; Cosmonauts Avenue; and elsewhere.
